Rich syrup (2:1)
Brix: ~66 °Bx (2:1 sugar:water by weight) (planning figure — the product label is the final reference)
Energy: ~400 kcal / 100 ml (planning figure — the product label is the final reference)
Shelf life: Refrigerate in a sanitised, dated, sealed container. Follow the product label; for house-made items, set and validate your own hold time.
Storage: Refrigerated in a sanitized, sealed, dated bottle; an unlabelled bottle gets discarded on sight. Spoilage signs: cloudiness, yeasty smell, bubbles, mould.
- Sweetening cold brew and iced americano — more sweetness per pump, less dilution
- Mojito-zero and lemonade bases that already carry plenty of liquid
- Anywhere a 1:1 pump would water the drink down
Dissolve 2 parts sugar into 1 part water by weight over gentle heat, stirring until fully clear — never boil. It sits near saturation, so give it time to dissolve completely and cool before bottling. Sanitized, dated bottle, refrigerated; no label = discard.
Denser than a 1:1, so the same pump carries more sugar. WHO guidance keeps added sugars under 10% of daily energy, ideally under 5%.
