AlyOps is a reference work. It is written carefully, sourced where sourcing is possible, and reviewed. It is not a substitute for your own professional judgement, your regulator's requirements, or your employer's procedures.

Professional and operational guidance

The procedures, standard operating procedures, checklists and workflows published here are general reference material. They are not tailored to your outlet, your equipment, your supply chain, your team, or your jurisdiction.

Before adopting any procedure, you must adapt it to your own operation and verify it against the requirements that apply to you.

Food safety

Material relating to food safety, hygiene, temperature control, HACCP, allergens and shelf life is published for reference and training purposes.

It does not replace:

• The food safety requirements of your regulator, including in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia the requirements of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority and your municipality
• Your establishment's own food safety management system
• Any mandatory training or certification required of you or your staff
• The instructions of your suppliers and manufacturers

Where this site and your regulator differ, your regulator prevails. Always.

Allergens and health

Ingredient, allergen and nutritional information is published for general reference and may be incomplete, may vary between suppliers, and may change without notice.

Never rely on this site to make an allergen declaration to a customer. Verify against the actual product supplied to you, on the day, from its own label and specification.

Nothing on this site is medical or dietary advice. If you have a health condition, consult a qualified professional.

Technical figures and measurements

Ratios, temperatures, timings, yields, extraction figures, dosages and costings are reference values. They depend on your equipment, your water, your ingredients, your altitude and your calibration.

Where a figure is sourced, the source is stated. Where a figure is our own measurement, it is stated as such. Verify every figure against your own equipment before relying on it commercially.

Calculators are provided as aids. Check the output. We accept no liability for a costing, a yield, or a price derived from them.

Equipment

Equipment material is general reference. It does not replace the manufacturer's manual, safety instructions, or service requirements.

Do not perform maintenance, descaling, disassembly or electrical work on any equipment except in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and by a competent person. Espresso equipment operates at pressures and temperatures capable of causing serious injury.

Regulatory compliance

AlyOps does not provide legal or regulatory advice. Requirements differ between countries, between cities, and over time.

Your compliance is your responsibility. Confirm it with your regulator, not with this site.

Training, assessment and certification

Learning material and assessments published here record completion of the knowledge component of the material covered.

They do not constitute:

• An accredited qualification
• A practical competence assessment
• Any form of licence to practise
• A substitute for any legally mandated training or certification

AlyOps is not an accredited certification body and does not claim to be one. Any certificate issued records completion of the assessed knowledge component only, and states so on its face. Certificates are not time-limited and carry no expiry.

We correct errors when we find them, and we state the source of factual claims where a source exists.
