Basis
Per 100 ml — a volume. Applying it to a weight would be wrong.
Example, at 30 ml
1 kcal / 100 ml × 30 ml ÷ 100 = ≈ 0 kcal

A planning figure, not a laboratory analysis. It is here so a recipe can be reasoned about, not so it can be declared on a menu.

How energy is derived

Shelf life: Sealed: 1–2 years stored well. Loses aroma once opened.

Storage: Opaque, airtight, away from light, heat, moisture and strong odours.

  • Karak and spiced milk teas
  • Iced tea and fruit tea bases
  • Strong brew needed before milk and sugar go in

Match the grade to the drink: CTC grades are the karak base — they stand up to real boiling with milk. Whole-leaf (Turkish-style) tea is ruined by long boiling — brew it gently on the double teapot instead.

About 20 mg caffeine per 100 ml brewed — gentler than coffee, but all-day drinking adds up; tea tannins reduce iron absorption, worth knowing for guests who take tea with every meal.
