Energy density
30 kcal / 100 ml
Basis
Per 100 ml — a volume. Applying it to a weight would be wrong.
Example, at 30 ml
30 kcal / 100 ml × 30 ml ÷ 100 = ≈ 9 kcal

A planning figure, not a laboratory analysis. It is here so a recipe can be reasoned about, not so it can be declared on a menu.

How energy is derived

Shelf life: Same day only — it separates and turns quickly. Cut melon: wrapped and refrigerated, 1–2 days.

Storage: Whole melon: a cool room. Once cut: wrapped, refrigerated, on a clean tray. The juice: cold, stirred before every pour.

  • Watermelon cooler over ice
  • Watermelon-mint refresher — press the mint gently, never shred it
  • Frozen watermelon cubes replace ice in blended drinks — body without dilution

Blend chilled seedless flesh, strain briefly, and serve cold the same day. It separates on standing — stir before pouring, and skip the sugar when the fruit is ripe.

Mostly water — light and hydrating at ~30 kcal / 100 ml, with modest natural sugars. Ripe fruit needs no added sugar.
