Pomegranate seeds (arils)

Shelf life: Seeded in house: 1–2 days refrigerated, sealed and dated. A fizzy smell or slime: discard.

Storage: Refrigerated in a sealed dated container; drain well — standing water shortens the life.

Quarter the fruit and free the arils in a bowl of cold water — seeds sink, white pith floats. Skim, drain well, refrigerate in a sanitized dated container.

Rich in polyphenols, and a light addition to a drink.
