  1. Cold brew / French press — Coarse
  2. Chemex — Medium-coarse
  3. V60 / AeroPress — Medium-fine
  4. Moka pot — Medium-fine
  5. Espresso — Fine
  6. Turkish — Extra-fine / powder

How to use / SOP

Purpose

Quickly compare relative grind coarseness across brew methods when setting up a grinder for a method you don't brew every day.

Standard

Coarse → fine order: cold brew/French press, Chemex, V60/AeroPress, Moka pot, espresso, Turkish.

Steps

  1. Find the method you're about to brew on the scale.
  2. Set your grinder relative to where you already have it dialed for a neighboring method on the scale.
  3. Grind a small test amount and adjust one step at a time toward finer or coarser as needed.

Reading the result

This chart shows relative order only, not absolute click/dial settings — every grinder's scale is different. Use it to know which direction to move, not an exact number.

Notes

Always purge a few grams after any grind adjustment before using the dose for brewing.
